280: Running is Not The Best Way to Lose Weight

Running is not the best way to lose weight.  So many people get into running trying to lose weight or get in shape (I’m one of those people!), but today we want to talk about why this is not a good way to look at your running or even to lose weight.

When people run to lose weight, it often leads them to train too hard and only care about burning calories, which leads them to overtraining and actually the opposite of what they want.  In fact, many runners tend to actually gain weight, especially if they are training for a longer distance race.  This leads to so much frustration and defeat because not only are you not losing weight, but you are also now hurt and exhausted in the process.
